THE RESULT
The Bobcats (7-56) were looking to come out with the same energy they did against the Memphis Grizzlies in their last game on April 20, but the Kings got off to the quick start en route to the 114-88 victory on April 22 at Time Warner Cable Arena®.
TURNING POINTS
The Kings took control of the game early and held a 31-19 lead at the end of one… The Bobcats battled in the second, but were still outscored by three as the Kings went into the half leading, 59-44…. Sacramento would not be slowed in the second half and pushed its lead to 35 points before posting the 26-point win.me.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Many of the Kings points came in the paint, where they were able to outscored the Bobcats, 78-54… This domination in the paint allowed the Kings to shoot the ball well from the field, hitting 55.2 percent (48 of 87), compared to the Bobcats 43.8 percent (39 of 89)… The Bobcats were able to win the battle on the boards, outrebounding the Kings 45-37… The Kings were able to get a lot of runouts by forcing 19 Charlotte turnovers and converting them into 38 fastbreak points.
BOBCATS PLAYERS OF THE GAME
Kemba Walker had a good night for the Bobcats, finishing the game with 13 points, 11 assists and five rebounds.
Derrick Brown continued his strong play from the small forward position, scoring 13 points and pulling down seven rebounds.
KINGS PLAYER OF THE GAME
DeMarcus Cousins had his way in the paint, finishing with 29 points and 10 rebounds.
GAME NOTES
Byron Mullens (13), and Tyrus Thomas (10) were the two other Bobcats players to reach double-figure scoring… D.J. Augustin (knee) and Reggie Williams (knee) were both inactive for the Bobcats… Jamario Moon scored his first points as a member of the Bobcats, finishing the night with seven points.
